May we please have a beautiful May?

It has felt like springtime for some time now with our early snow melt. We haven't had much rainfall yet this year, but we're certain we will see lots in May. Please make sure to send a pair of waterproof boots or shoes with your child to school, as we do go outside daily and their shoes are bound to encounter some water along the way.
We do have a few things to mention about May. On Thursday, May 5th, it is Red Dress Day to show support for missing and murdered Indigenous women by wearing red. Then, on May 13th, we have our last professional development day of the year, so there will be no school that day. Following that is the early dismissal on May 16th, our staff meeting day.
The Victoria Day Long Weekend is May 20th to 23rd inclusive, so the school will be closed on those two days. That week, after we come back, we are doing another fun Spirit Day on May 27th. We have indicated on the May calendar that went home what colors your student should dress up in to match their classroom, as it's Class Colors Day!
Finally, on May 30th, we will either be seeing you in person or on the phone/zoom for Parent Teacher Day. There is no school for students that day.
